5K Run

Calling All Runners (Walkers, Skippers, Jumpers, and Even Crawlers, Too)

The Oblong Children's Christian Home will host their 5th Annual Spooktacular 5K on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Oblong City Park, and we would like for you to join us! Each year the fun increases, as more and more folks accept the challenge of a brisk, fall morning run/walk through the streets of Oblong. The Spooktacular 5K is the first event of the Oblong Fall Follies, so rest assured that even after the morning exercise, there is much, much more to take in.

The race will begin at 8:00 AM (CDT), rain or shine. Pre-registration is always a good idea. And, registration by October 7, 2014 will ensure that you receive a commemorative long-sleeve t-shirt also!

We will award winners in six age divisions: 20 and under, 21 - 30, 31 - 40, 41 - 50, 51 - 60, and 61 and over. In addition, trophies will be presented to the top overall female and the top overall male. Stick around after the event, as all participants will be eligible for randomly drawn door prizes, too.

In our five years of hosting the event, we've kept our entry fee the same: $25 (whether paid in advance or on the day of the race). That's a pretty good deal, considering we'll provide a goodie bag and post-race refreshments.

Mark your calendars now for this event, and click on the link below to register online. We'd love to have you join us for a fun time, all to benefit the Oblong Children's Christian Home, where our mission is to glorify God by providing family-style homes for at-risk
and struggling youth.
